Week 1 was even crazier then I expected American Idol to be. After 8 seasons don't people realize that if you suck, the judges will laugh at you (as will almost everyone else in the world). I guess a few seconds of fame are worth it to some people. Anyway here are the lessons I learned in week 1:
1)Sing a song that matches your voice especially if you don't want the judges laughing at you. I have a feeling that this one is going to be repeated soon (probably in week 2)
2) Don't audition with your BFF, marriages have broken up over less.
3) Only audition if your dream is to become a singer because really is a few seconds of TV time worth the humiliation?
4) Know the words to the song that you are trying to sing. Nerves are one thing but to not know any part of the song, have you heard of practicing?
5) Don't cuss out the judges. If someone has been lieing to you all your life, it probably means that they are laughing at you behind your back. You should thank the judges for being honest enough to tell you that you suck!
These lessons can translate to real life:
1)Sing in the shower and if the dog starts howling, never sing outside of the shower, but if the cat goes missing for the rest of the day, stop singing and never start again.
2)If an activity could end a friendship (like working together), don't take your BFF - find a friend who doesn't mean that much to you.
3) Follow your dreams but make sure they are realistic first.
4) If you want to make a career out of your job, you need to practice and get better at it.
5) Don't cuss out your boss unless you want to be fired.
